6 Powerful Ways To Boost Your Self-Confidence

One of the things that held me back from pursuing my dreams for many years was my lack of self-confidence. Sadly, I wasn’t the only one. A lack of self-confidence is something that many people face on a daily basis.

The key question is: how do you overcome this?

The truth is, once we believe in ourselves, we’re more apt to take risks and to pursue the spontaneity of life. This is something that I’ve been doing over the years, and that’s what helped me gain the confidence to embrace my authentic self, and finally pursue my dreams.

By taking control of your life, your concrete actions that improve your competence, and your self-image, you’ll be able to confidently speak your truth without the help of anyone else.

Here’s how…

Think Positive
Placing your focus on the worst possible outcome can cause you unnecessary anxiety, and stop you from taking real action. Use your energy to acknowledge the positive things that come your way. What you focus on expands, so it’s important to see the good in everything.

Acknowledge Your Fears
Fear is normal. The key is to not let it hinder your feelings. Recognizing your fears will help you address them rather than trying to escape them. The best way to address your fears is to write out what it is you are afraid of and what you will do to conquer it.

Cultivate Relationships
Connect with those close to you, whether they are family or friends, to keep your perspective uplifted. Maintaining a positive support network will help you to embrace positivity and ultimately boost your self-confidence.

Forgive Yourself
Feeling more confident is one part of living a happier, more fulfilling life. If you’ve done something in the past that you are ashamed of, forgive yourself and move on. Growing rather than dwelling on the past will allow you to overcome any self-limitations.

Identify Your Talents
Everyone is good at something, so discover the things at which you excel, and focus on them. If you give yourself permission to take pride in what you’re good at, you will become a more confident person. Trust me, this has worked for myself as well as for all of my clients.

Make Room For Balance In Your Life
Balancing work, play and of course time for yourself will give you the confidence to go about your life in a more fulfilling way. Being able to properly balance your life will not only make you a happier person, but it will also increase your chances of meeting new people that share the same interests as you. Go on, get out there!

It’s Beneficial To Be Breast Aware

Even though some breast changes are normal, other changes are not. I can’t stress enough how important it is for women to know their breasts. Knowing how your breasts normally look and feel will help you detect if any unusual changes occur, and if you should follow through with speaking to your physician. You should never feel ashamed to touch your breasts. In fact, I highly encourage it!

In light of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share with you five easy ways to examine your breasts. So, if you haven’t already, follow the steps below. You never know, this might just save your life!

1. Begin by looking at your breasts in the mirror with your shoulders straight and your arms on your hips. If you notice any abnormalities such as unusual swelling or dimpling, or unusual redness, bring them to your doctor’s attention.

2. Raise your arms and turn from side to side so you can inspect the outer portions of your breasts. If you notice the same changes, consult your doctor.

3. Feel your nipples and check for any fluid or discharge coming out of one or both nipples. To do so, place your thumb and forefinger on the tissue surrounding the nipple and pull outward toward the end of the nipple.

4. Feel your breasts when bent over while looking in the mirror. Roll your shoulders and elbows forward to tighten your chest muscles so that your breasts fall foreword. Look for any changes in the shape of your breasts or if there is any lumpiness or thickenings.

5. Feel your breasts while you are lying down. Make sure to use a firm, but smooth touch with your first three fingers. It is important to cover the entire breast from top to bottom, and side to side from your collarbone to the upper abdomen.

A self-breast exam should be completed once a month. For more information on self-breast exams please CLICK HERE.

Happy examining!

5 Amazing Reasons To Love Your Breasts

Loving your breasts as they are means that you love an amazing part about yourself and your genetic makeup. Although it seems that it would be a natural thing to love the breasts that you have been given, many women do not (something that I too struggled with for years). In fact, many women are led to believe that there is something wrong with their breasts, but I’m here to tell you that your breasts are amazing, and not to allow anyone to make you believe otherwise. It wasn’t until I learned to love myself for the true person I am – genetic makeup and all – that I could go from hating my breasts to loving them.

So, if you need some breast loving encouragement, then this blog is for you! And, if you are already a breast lover (like myself), then read on to celebrate all the amazing reasons to love your breasts, just as they are.

Because They Are Beautiful
It is unfortunate that societal mandates make so many of us doubt our breasts, forcing us to change their natural appearance. What’s important to remember is that these mandates are completely false. We were born beautiful – and that definitely includes our breasts!

Because No Other Breasts Are Like Yours
Your breasts are unique; they are your DNA and no two DNA are the same. Their size, their shape and their color are distinctive to you – and only you! We mustn’t ‘fix’ our breasts to fit some arbitrary ideal, but rather embrace our breasts for their unique beauty.

Because They Give Life
Your breasts provide a natural form of nutrition to a baby and are available 24 hours a day for feeding. If that isn’t amazing enough on its own, breasts can also keep the milk at a perfect temperature and will adjust to an infant’s demanding feeding schedule. For those with breastfeeding issues, there are breasts pumps available so that your baby can still receive the amazing natural nutrients found in breast milk.

Because They Define Your Femininity
Breasts define our femininity on so many levels, and this is something that we should always embrace.

Because Everyone Loves Them
Let’s face it… breasts are loveable. From babies, to adults, everyone loves them and you should too!

Now is the time to love and accept your breasts. It’s time to stop saying, “they’re too small” or “too big” or “too lopsided” or “too saggy” — they’re yours. Forever. You only have one set of breasts, so just love them already.

Shared Belief in the “Golden Rule” – The Law of One

I recently came across a very inspiring quote that not only empowered me to share it with you, but it also fits right in with this month’s theme: The Golden Rule. I hope this quote is as inspiring to you as it is to me.

Here it is…

Screen Shot 2015-06-16 at 3.17.58 PM

This quote, also known as The Law of One, reflects how one’s actions can affect another’s, and that living within the present moment, the most important moment of all, will give us peace, clarity and love.

Our ability to help and to heal one another lies within the present moment. What we do in the now impacts ours as well as others’ futures.

No matter our beliefs, one thing that is certain is that we are all spiritually connected—both human and non-human kind. Even science suggests that we are all one energy. We are a part of a unified field where all minds are connected. We are one universe.

We are taught to love each other, and if we all love each other, we will all live in the harmony of love. When you love others, you will be loved. When you treat others with respect, you will be respected.

So, what are your thoughts on this quote? Do you believe that we are all ONE? Do we have to power to heal each other?

Please comment in the comment section below. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
