For the month of March, I am focusing on EMPOWERMENT – something that I greatly believe in and something that I practice every day of my life. I believe that through empowering ourselves we can empower others.
Unfortunately for many – empowerment often becomes overshadowed by our fears. Our fears get in the way of allowing us to create and live the life we truly desire.
The statement in the picture above speaks volumes for many of us. Most people fear to shine and end up living a life they truly don’t love, instead of living one that is fulfilling and powerful.
I wanted to share an amazing quote written by Marianne Williamson, which focuses on what our deepest fear truly is. In reading this quote, I can assure you something in your mind is going to shift. It did for me!
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
I would love to know what came up for you in reading this quote? What is your deepest fear and how is it stopping you from empowering others and living a life you truly love?
