The New Year brings up the ideas of “starting fresh” and “getting it right,” which gives us the motivation to instil lifestyle changes that benefit us mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. On the other hand – depending on where those changes stem from – they could have the opposite affect and could actually be doing us harm. That is, if we are unaware of their underlying cause.

For this week’s blog post, I wanted to share an article with you. This article is extremely inspiring and something that we all could benefit from reading.

In our lifetime, there are preconceived notions of how we are supposed to look, what we are supposed to do, and what we are supposed to believe. These notions live subconsciously within us and are often tainted as a result of numerous influences in our lives: the generation we live in, the media, our culture, our family morals, our religion, and so much more.

As this article explains, these ideas forced upon us are in fact, damaging myths. We must look within ourselves and revaluate our thoughts to discover our true beliefs, rather than the myths we have unintentionally adopted.
